The HT Lead Sensor comprises a sensor head with 3 metres of cable, and is a device designed to pick up ignition pulses from the HT lead of the ignition system without a direct connection to it, and convert the pulses to a level suitable to drive the SureShift 2 shift light (or other tachometer, datalogger etc).
The unit is mainly of use where it is not possible (or not desirable) to get a direct connection to the low voltage side of the coil (for example, where cutting into a wiring loom may otherwise be necessary).
It is also useful for CDI systems, and Magneto systems, which generally do not have a conventional 12V signal to the coil.
